Paying for the decisions

Putting a price on the decisions a franchise has to make.

I almost neglected to add in one of the most fun aspects of Fantasy Football: Trades. I need to make it so they can include several players and cash vs 1:1 transactions. I want it to check that both teams can field a valid roster, reviews injuries and makes sure the salaries fit under future salary caps. Again, super easy, right?

Currently, contracts are paid from the same franchise funds as payroll, scouting, construction and trades. Guarantees, bonuses, options and release costs need to be factored in to make the simulation as deep as I want it to be. An estimated salary needs to be clearly distinguished from an amount the franchise has actually committed and long-term projections and calculation support graphs need to be there for the user to make these calls. Damn scope creep…. You will be the death of me…...

I’m putting checks in place and testing a few theories to implement these new steps. A management game can get me into enough trouble through my own decisions without an overenthusiastic button pressing, it seems – because I don’t even have buttons yet!
