The front office
The newer budget view spells out the season-opening bill, when it is due, and what should be left afterward. Those are the numbers I need when I’m deciding what the team can afford.

THE RETRO GRID COLLECTIVE
TRGC started with friends playing Valheim. Years of games and laughs later, we’re making our own—with the same people along for the ride. Idleball comes first.
HOW WE GOT HERE
TRGC began in the 10th Realm, with a few friends playing Valheim during its early access days, in the middle of COVID. We kept coming back for the games, the company and the laughs. Over the years, those late nights turned into a gaming family.
With Gunz0G’s first original game on the way, the name grew to The Retro Grid Collective. We’re still the same group. Making our own games is now part of the story, starting with Gridiron Fantasy Manager ’27 and the Idleball franchise.
WHAT WE’RE HERE TO DO
Our mission is to keep pushing the creative envelope, create the types of worlds we've always wanted to explore and make the kinds of games we’ve always wanted to play - all completely free from advertisements and pay-to-win mechanics.
We don't have quotas, or outside shareholders to appease - it's just Gunz0g and the handful of founding TRGC members; and we're in it for the love of the game.
We run on pure imagination, caffeine and creative freedom; and we're aiming to bring some amazing stories to you over the next few years!
Idleball is the first step: deep simulation, meaningful statistics, endless stories and zero ads. There are sports to build, worlds to explore and plenty left to learn.

IDLEBALL FOOTBALL · RELEASE 01
Planned release
You manage the team while the games run themselves.
Draft your roster, handle contracts and payroll, and follow the season. I'm planning a long career with the same franchise, including a successor when your coach retires.
Football is in development. Baseball, hockey and basketball are planned after it.

I kept some of the earlier screens. Here they are alongside recent prototype captures. These are different saves, but you can see what I've changed in the interface.

ABOUT ME
I'm 42, I'm a dad, and I'm changing careers. I was a Comp Sci major, but I hadn't coded in over twenty years when I started this project. The player generator and football simulation took a lot of trial and error. I'm now putting the game together in Godot.
